“Sunlight” - Tune-Yards, “Bird-Brains” (2009)
The second piece of music I’ve taken a liking to this week for its sheer creativity. Like Bruce Peninsula earlier and many things I’ve discovered through the blogosphere, Tune-Yards is Canadian (from Montreal). She is a solo artist who does all of her production through free software like Audacity, which is the program I use to mix music when I feel the desire. The music is fresh sounding with a backing track that could have been composed by my favorite musical artist, Amon Tobin, and a sweet lilting vocal track.
