“Bowsprit” - Balmorhea, “Constellations”, (Western Vinyl, 2010)
These guys make beautiful instrumental music. I don’t know quite what to call it—I’ve heard it called “post-rock”, but they seem to me a world apart from Explosions in the Sky or Mogwai, the bands I most associate with that term. To me they most closely resemble The Books, if The Books weren’t quite so nutty.
This song makes me want to be on a boat.
