“I Want A House” - Twin Sister, “Vampires With Dreaming Kids” [EP] (unsigned, 2009)

This is a beautiful and ultra-simple love song. I like it so much that I had been saving it up for a while, though I’m not sure what for. But this weekend is not only Valentine’s Day but also mine and E’s anniversary, so what better time for it?

I heard this originally on Said the Gramophone, and their writeup said it best:

“The first half of this song is about how good it would be to move in with your lover. It’s coo and thump, swing and lick; it’s blue and rose. And then the second half of this song is about what it’s like once you’ve moved in. It’s a paradise in windchime and bassline, hair on pillow and ice in glass.”
